





International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Admission: Anania Shirakatsy Armenian National Lyceum’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)is opening its admissions cycle for the 2016-2017 academic year. The Lyceum is the only school in Armenia authorized to run all three International Baccalaureate Programmes – Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP), which will offer the opportunity for students to grow within the full IB academic spectrum. The Diploma Programme is intended for students both in Armenia and around the world, who have completed the 10th or 11th grades. The programe lasts 2 years (based on the RA Ministry of Education’s September 18, 2014 decision), and is conducted entirely in English. Admitted students will also be able to receive the RA Certificate (Attestate) of Complete Secondary General Education.

Applicants must sit an entrance examination, which will be comprised of mathematics (two parts) and English (one part).
For students beginning their studies in the 2016-2017 academic year, the Lyceum will offer Financial Aid for qualified students with high academic performance, and who demonstrate financial need. Additional terms and conditions for Financial Aid will be announced in due course.

Anania Shirakatsy Armenian National Lyceum is an educational institution that provides general education correspondent to international standards. It’s the one in Armenia that’s both a member of IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) and Round Square.
The educational complex started its activity in 1990 as an institution aimed at the discovery of talented children and the organization of their education. Today it implements the corresponding IB (International Baccalaureate) programs in the primary (PYP), middle (MYP) and high (DP) schools, as well as in the preschool.
DP (Diploma program) students of the Lyceum have the opportunity to enter and study at more than 2000 universities in the world without any entrance examinations.
More than three hundred Lyceum graduates studied and study in the world’s best universities, including Harvard, Cambridge, Sorbonne, Stanford, Lomonosov, Massachusetts, Toronto, Beijing, Tokyo and London Universities, Moscow Institute of Physics.
DP learners study all their subjects and take all their examinations in English.
Famous scientists take part in the scientific advisory works of the Lyceum. They coordinate the teaching-learning processes of relevant subjects. The Lyceum implements а program of organizing the education of talented children and studying talent relating problems (the program is registered at the Armenian National Copyright Agency, № 7/13, 01.03.2002).

1. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (hereinafter referred to as
IBDP) of the Lyceum accepts applications from students who are turning to 15 years old
within the current academic year from general education schools both in the Republic of
Armenia and worldwide. Acceptance is based on performance in exams and interviews on a competitive basis.
2. Prior to admission, applicants sit exams in Mathematics and English. Exam content
and requirements meet the state general education standards (the passing score adheres to a
minimum grade of 40% and 60% for Mathematics and English, respectively).
3. Applicants who have successfully passed the exams will be interviewed within the
framework of IBDP subjects to be taught.
4. If the applicant’s scores on examinations are below the minimum passing threshold,
but s/he has demonstrated high performance during the interview process, the Admissions
Committee may decide to admit the candidate to the IBDP on a conditional basis, wherein the student is admitted to study during a probationary period of one academic term, and placed on a waiting list. Upon completion of the term, the School Board will make a decision the student may continue his/her studies in IBDP, the student should withdraw from his/her studies in IBDP
5. The students of the Lyceum who have been subject to withdrawal from the IBDP may
be considered as continuing candidates in the national educational programme offered by the Lyceum. If the transferring student has been dismissed from the IBDP, then s/he must undergo an admissions examination in accordance with the current admissions policy of the Lyceum. Only then may the applicant be considered for enrollment in the national programme offered.
6. All other admission-related issues are decided by the Admission Committee.
7. When students are admitted to the IBDP offered by the Lyceum, the applicants must

8. The successful candidates must submit the documents below:
- Completed Application Form
- Copy of the Birth Certificate or Passport
- Official Transcripts
- Two Recommendation Letters from school faculty
- Four passport-size photos (3x4)
- Health Reference Letter (in accordance with RA law)
9. Upon admission, a binding contract and/or agreement is/are signed along with the
successful candidates and their parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s).
10. Students (currently Lyceum students only) who have successfully gained admission
into the IBDP can apply for Financial Aid allocated by the Lyceum. The following conditions
apply:
- Applicant’s academic performance and progress,
- Admissions results,
- Family’s demonstrated financial need
11. IBDP graduates who have successfully passed their state graduation exams will also be granted the State Certificate of secondary education of the RA in accordance with the state law about the «General education» of RA as well as the 3rd level of the state secondary educational program and its' regulatory deadlines by the state general education standards
